6 cheaters held

Handwara, Nov 19: Police has claimed to have busted a gang of alleged cheaters in Vilgam area here by arresting six persons.
 “These cheaters were operating with different modus operandi at various places and women were their easy target,” police said in a statement.
 “In Vilgam, these cheaters used to lure naïve woman folk on the pretext of cleaning their gold ornaments and thereafter they would make them to believe that in case it is kept untouched and hidden in the cloth given by these cheaters, the ornaments would get cleaned and simultaneously, there will be increase in its weight. Thereby, they would deceive them and whisk away with the gold ornaments,” police added
 Police kept an eye on these cheaters and nabbed them along with a car with fictitious registration number (JK03A-1474), it said adding 13 complaints were registered against the accused in Police Station Vilgam.
 The accused have been identified as Nissar Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Khaliq Shah of Churat Qazigund, Farooq Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Jabbar of Churat Qazigund, Bilal Ahmad Shah son of Muhammad Shah of Budshung Dangiwacha Rafiabad, Firdous Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Gaffar Shah of Budshung Dangiwacha Rafiabad, Abdul Hamid Khan son of Abdul Aziz Khan of Nihalpora Pattan and Mushtaq Ahmad Shah son of Muhammad Akbar Shah of Takiya Wagoora Baramulla.
