Committee to check shops, restaurants

Jammu, Nov 20: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu has constituted a three-member committee comprising Additional District Magistrate, Jammu as its Chairman, Assistant Director CAPD Jammu as member, Commercial Tax Officer (Vigilance), Jammu as Convenor and any other member to be co-opted by committee for checking of shops, restaurants and other commercial establishments. The committee, according to an official statement, has been constituted to check the genuineness of rates and to keep check on the profiteering, ensure inspection of bills of each goods and see that VAT and Taxes have been paid, inspection of all the other shops/establishments that all the rates have been put on the articles and displayed wherever prescribed and required, that the necessary receipt including record of VAT and other taxes are maintained by these shops/establishments, to ascertain the cost price of goods and their sale price, to ascertain that proper accounts are being maintained and vouchers/ receipts/ bills issued to the costumer/end user and any other topic of public interest.
