Dilawar Mir, Bandh take on Police
‘FORCES UNLEASHING TERROR’
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Nov 20: The General Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party Muhammad Dilawar Mir and the MLA Pulwama Muhammad Khalil Bnadh have condemned the “reign of terror unleashed” by police and forces at Pulwama, Muran, Rajpora, Shopian and other adjoining areas in south Kashmir.
“Police and CRPF are using brute force to crush expressions of dissent and muzzle peaceful voices all over the valley. One had hoped that the government will try reaching out to people with a humane face. But unfortunately it continues to use brute force against the masses,” Mir and Bandh said in a joint statement.
They alleged that in Pulwama and adjoining areas government forces were beating up people for no reason. “Many respectable citizens including the businessmen have been facing the wrath of the forces,” they added.
The PDP leaders said entire valley has been turned into a garrison. “Residents of Pattan and Palhallan continue to face indignity and harassment at the hands of forces on the other hand youth are being targeted and about 2000 of them have been arrested without any reason or acknowledgment. The government will be solely responsible for the torture these boys are subjected to and the reaction that these atrocities could trigger,” they added.
