Guv, CM greet people on Gurupurab

Jammu, Nov 20: The Governor, N N Vohra and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah have greeted the people on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev’s birthday.
 In his message, Vohra described Guru Nanak Devji as an apostle of peace and tolerance who pledged his entire life, for securing social justice, equality and harmony in the society.
 He said Guruji’s teachings shall continue to inspire generations to come, guiding and encouraging them to tread the path of righteousness and brotherhood.
 The Governor hoped that this auspicious occasion would strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, communal harmony and amity and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
 Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has conveyed warm wishes to the people especially Sikh community on the auspicious occasion.
 In his greetings , the Chief Minister described Guru Nanak Devji as an epitome of peace and tolerance who endeavoured, his entire life, for securing social justice, equality and harmony in the society.
 Praying for peace and prosperity in the State, the Chief Minister hoped that the day would further cement the bonds of love, brotherhood and amity between various sections of the society. He also prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the people.
 Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon has also felicitated the people of the Valley especially Sikh Community on the eve of Guru Nanak Devji’s birthday.
 In his message, Dr. Samoon said Guru Nanak Devji’s was a great saint and throughout his life he stood for non violence, humanity, brotherhood, communal harmony, tolerance, equality and truth.
