Initiate serious process to resolve K-issue: CPI (M)
GK NEWS NETWORK
New Delhi, Nov 21: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Sunday asked Centre to initiate a serious political process to resolve the Kashmir problem. The party called on its cadres to launch a campaign for a political solution of the JK and against the communal forces
“The Central Committee of the CPI (M) which met here discussed and adopted a report on JK problem. This report deals with the historical background of the issue and spells out the party’s approach for a political solution for the Kashmir issue,” a CPI (M) spokesman said in a statement.
“The Committee noted that no steps have been taken to remove the security structures which are oppressing the people in Kashmir. Though the eight point initiative of the Centre talked about a review of the Disturbed Areas Act in force, nothing has been done in that direction,” he said, adding that the Central Committee expressed its disappointment at the appointment of a group of interlocutors for JK who are non-political persons. If the political process is to be taken seriously there has to be a political group which can initiate the dialogue process.
Referring to the recent arrest of the absconding Aseemanand who is the main accused in the Hyderabad Makkah Masjid blast, the spokesman said, "It confirms the fact that some extremist Hindutva elements are responsible for terrorist activities.”
The Central Committee called upon its units to launch a campaign for a political solution of the Jammu and Kashmir problem and against the communal forces.
