What roadmap?
This refers to the news “Roadmap for K-resolution in a year: Interlocutors.” One fails to understand what type of a roadmap are the interlocutors going to formulate. Every now and then we hear India asserting that Kashmir is its integral part. It has not even granted maximum autonomy to the state which is not the demand of separatists but the mainstream parties which are close to the power corridors of New Delhi. In such a scenario, what should a common Kashmiri expect from the group of interlocutors? I think it is better if the people of Kashmir, who have already rejected the interlocutors, don’t keep any expectations from the team. In the past we have seen such people directly or indirectly holding parleys with Kashmiri leadership saying they are from the Prime Ministers Office. So how can they be impartial today? Just when the crisis started, news reports suggesting that Ms Radha Kumar and Mr Admiral Nair were on visit to Kashmir to carry out “backchannel diplomacy.” Let us all keep our fingers crossed and do our routine work rather than focus on the interlocutors, who won’t be able to deliver.
