Aussie surgeon delivers lecture at SKIMS

Srinagar, Nov 24: Eminent Hepato-Biliary Onco-surgeon from the University of Melbourne, Australia, Prof Christopher Christophi delivered a lecture at SK Institute of Medical Sciences Soura on Management of Liver Metastasis from Colorectal Cancer. Like elsewhere, the disease is a major cause of concern in the state.
 An official handout said the issue was discussed extensively by the guest faculty, invited medical professionals and SKIMS faculty.
 “Prof Christopher Christophi gave a detailed account of recent developments in terms of diagnostic facilities available globally and the recent management tools available with the medical professionals,” the handout said.
 Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, SKIMS headed by Prof Omer Javid Shah had organized the event.
 Director SKIMS Prof Abdul Hamid Zargar reiterated the importance of these academic exchange programes. On this occasion eminent medicos: Prof Mehmooda Khan, Prof. Habibullah Zargar, Prof NA Wani and Prof GM Dhar also educated the audience about their experiences in managing the various cancers. The session was chaired by Prof Shagufta Qazi, Prof Khurshid Alam and Prof Sheikh Aeijaz Ahmed.  Dr Sadaf Ali, Associate Professor, extended a vote of gratitude to invited guests.
