Rehabilitation policy landmark decision: NC

Jammu, Nov 24: Spokesman of the ruling National Conference, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, on Wednesday described the announcement of the rehabilitation policy for the former militants as a landmark decision and the most effective confidence building measure.
“This will provide relief to the families which have been waiting since long for the return of their kith and kin,” Sheikh Ghulam Rasool said in a statement.
He asserted that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had initiated series of measures to address the political and humanitarian dimensions of the Kashmir problem. “The coalition government and the Government of India deserve our full support and appreciation for having facilitated Omar Abdullah’s proposal,” he added.
Taking a dig at Peoples Democratic Party, the former Chief Secretary said, “The PDP opposing rehabilitation policy at the floor of the house and not allowing its adoption proved that its so called healing touch policy was a mere propaganda.”
