Open schools
This refers to the Jammu and Kashmir government’s decision to keep schools open during the winter months. It is really a good step to compensate the loss that the students suffered in the past five months. But what often happens is that the government talks a lot, but does little on ground. That should not happen here. It must provide all the required facilities to the schools so that the student community is able to study without any hassles. The facilities should be put in place as soon as possible. Primarily they are required in far flung areas, where schools lack infrastructure. Otherwise the exercise is bound to be a failure.
