DDC finalizes Muharram arrangements

Srinagar, Nov 27: To finalize arrangements for upcoming Muharram-ul-Haram, a high level meeting was held in the City Saturday under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo.
Among others who attended the meeting were MLA, Zadibal,Peer Afaq Ahmad, representative of organizations like Anjuman-e-Sharian Shia, All J&K Shia Association, Itehadul Muslimeen besides officials from various departments.
During the discourse of meeting, threadbare discussion was held on different issues and many decisions were taken on the spot.
An official handout said regarding arrangements, the DDC directed the concerned officers to take “all measures so that during days of Muharram no difficulty is faced by the people.”
“SMC and PDD will ensure repairs to High Mast and Street Lights….PDD will also ensure uninterrupted power supply,” the handout added.
