Smokers fined

Srinagar, Nov 27: Authorities on Saturday slapped a fine of Rs 200 on an elderly person identified as Ghulam Muhammad Dar of Hasanabad allegedly for smoking in the waiting hall of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir’s office while some other accused were also caught red-handed in the adjacent office.
Officials said two persons Muhammad Yaqoob Malik, a Patwari and Abdul Ahad of Tankipora were caught smoking in the canteen of DC office, Srinagar.
An aggregate fine of Rs 2400 was recovered from the offenders during a daylong anti-smoking drive in the City.
