Muzzling truth

The attack by the BJP Mahila Morcha on the house of noted writer and Booker Prize Winner, Arundhati Roy is just an act of desperation aimed to grab the public attention. The party activists were protesting over Roy’s remarks on Kashmir. Media sensationalized the hooliganism. Such steps will mar Indian peace plans in Kashmir. Truth can’t be killed this way. It is high time that everybody in India understands the real situation in Kashmir and then starts raising voice against injustice. Tolerance is the hallmark of any democratic set-up. If India is really democratic, it must accommodate dissent.
