Coalition to defeat divisive forces: Rana
Jammu, Nov 4: CM’s Political Advisor, Devender Singh Rana today said the coalition government under the leadership of Omar Abdullah was determined to defeat the divisive forces intending to disturb the secular fabric of J&K and create fissures among people on political, religious or social basis.
Addressing public after inspecting the damage to the crops due to recent hailstorm in R S Pura, Rana urged the people not to get carried away by the “false propaganda inoculated by the political elements whose basic design is the weaken the state and its people for their our petty political gains.”
He said NC/Congress coalition was grateful to the UPA Government which under the leadership of Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi was supporting the state in its developmental agenda for the welfare of the people of the state. “This support coupled with the efforts of state government will unleash an era of unprecedented equitable development of all the three regions of the state.”
Vice-Chairman, Kissan Welfare Board, Rachhpal Singh said minimum support price of milk should be fixed to provide relief to the farmers for which Rana said the matter was under the active consideration of the government.
Singh also demanded sale outlets in private sector for easy availability of fertilizers. He also demanded compensation to the draught hit farmers and while reacting to the query, Rana said assessment of the losses due to the draught had been worked out and the compensation would be disbursed soon.
