Some pacifiers

This refers to the news “Omar chairs UHQ meet” (GK Nov 2). I just can’t understand what they do in the UHQ meetings. Last time they came out with some pacifiers for the Kashmir crisis which included revocation of the PSA slapped on the youth on charges of stone pelting. The state government must understand that such drastic steps can have adverse impact on the psyche of these youth and it can prove detrimental for the society as a whole. There are so many students among those arrested under PSA. Their future has been marred. Is stone pelting a sin? If it is so, what is pumping bullets in the bodies of unarmed civilians?
