Too late
This refers to the news “Kashmir unrest painful: Sonia.” The UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, has all of a sudden woken up to the realities in Kashmir. However, it is unfortunate that a leader like her is making such a statement after Kashmir has already lost 111 lives in the past five months. Till then, the leadership in Delhi only resorted to lip service, hoping against hope to see the crisis ending in Kashmir. That time, they bought time by sending the all-party delegation to Kashmir and holding some Cabinet Committee on Security meetings in a bid to diffuse the crisis. What is shocking to observe is that even after 110 killings, police and paramilitary forces continue to harass youth and detain them on one or the other charge. This way the crisis won’t end completely. The youth detained must be released forthwith. Let them live a free life.
