2 dead in hit-n-run accidents

Srinagar: A Power Development Department employee on Thursday evening died in a road accident in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district.
 Official sources told PBI that Manzoor Wani, 50, son of Kamal Wani of Sogam village in Kokernag area of the district was repairing service line in the village last evening when an unknown speedy truck hit the pole. The lineman fell on the ground and sustained serious injuries. He succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital. Police has filed a case and started investigations.
 In another hit and run case, a Bihari laborer Muhammad Anwarul, son of Muhammad Liyaqat of Bihar was crushed by an unknown vehicle near Nuner area of Ganderbal district. The injured was shifted to SK Institute of medical sciences, where he succumbed to injuries this morning.

Srinagar: The government has promoted additional secretary posted as secretary State Advisory Board for Development of Kissan as special secretary. A government order (vide 654-GAD of 2010) said Ghulam Nabi Mir is promoted as special secretary on proforma basis against the available vacancy.
