Uncovered manholes irk Natipora

Srinagar, Nov 5: The residents of Natipora Friday complained that authorities have uncovered manholes on Natipora-Nowgam road.
 The residents said that the open manholes pose danger to the locals especially during night as there isn’t any caution sign near on the open holes.
 ‘’A few days back a boy fell into manhole. He was lucky not to slip deep into the drain as he got stuck to iron rods midway,’’ said Adil Ahmad, a local adding that the boy was rescued by locals.
 Many vehicles accidentally get trapped in the uncovered drains, the residents said.
 ‘’This’s sheer irresponsibity on part of the concerned authorities. We approached the officials but they didn’t pay any heed,’’ locals alleged.
 The residents have appealed UEED officials to look into the matter.
