JKPM hosts seminar
Jammu: Tributes were paid to Muslims of Jammu who were massacred by fanatics in 1947 at a seminar here on Saturday.
The seminar organized by Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) and attended by the intellectuals, social and human rights activists and students. While speaking on the occasion the participants reiterated their pledge to take the ongoing freedom struggle in Kashmir to its logical conclusion.
Senior APHC leader and Chairman JKPM Ghulam Ahmed Mir who chaired the seminar refuted the impression created by the media that “separatism” was confined to the Jawahar tunnel only and there were no such aspiration on the other side of Pirpanchal ranges.
He said the supreme sacrifices offered by the Muslims of Jammu in 1947 were unprecedented.
He said Muslims of the Jammu would never hesitate to offer any sacrifice to take the ongoing movement to its logical conclusion.
Mir appealed to Muslims of Jammu to remain vigilant against the elements who are bent upon to weaken the freedom struggle across the Jammu region.
Others who spoke on the occasion include, Abdul Majeed Wani, former Additional Advocate General of Jammu and Kashmir, Ahsan Ashraf Bhat, a student leader, Muhammad Sharief, Abdul Ghani, Bashir Ahmed, Zain-ul-Abideen, Abdul Rashid and Azhar Iqbal.
