Div Com constitutes technical committee
Heritage Village Near Airport
Srinagar/Sopore, Nov 7: The Divisional Commissioner, Dr Asgar Samoon has constituted a technical committee to prepare a work plan and identify the land for constructing heritage village outside the Srinagar international airport here.
Addressing a meeting of officers to discuss ways and means for constructing the village here on Sunday, Dr Samoon said the step was taken to provide first hand information regarding the heritage and age old traditions besides art and craft of the Kashmir to the tourists coming from various parts of the world and other people who come to the valley by Air.
The heritage House would be fully equipped with famous handicraft goods, restaurant, floriculture, horticulture etc.
The committee would comprise VC, SDA, Director Tourism, Chief Engineer R&B, Chief Architect and Chief Town Planner. The Deputy Commissioner Budgam would be its member secretary.
Meanwhile, Dr. Samoon conducted extensive tour of Kupwara and Sopore and reviewed the ongoing works in the area.
After finding the Government Women’s college in Sopure locked, Dr Samoon instructed for action under rules against the concerned staff.
During his visit to Kupwara, he was informed about the works across the district. He was also informed about the stock and supply position particularly dumping of food grains and other essentials in Machil, Keran, Teetwal, etc.
