Guv’s secretariat reopens in Jammu

Jammu: The Governor’s Secretariat reopened in the winter capital, here today. Governor, N N Vohra, went around the Secretariat and asked the engineering wing to improve working conditions for the staff. He said time bound action should be taken for the disposal of all unserviceable articles and proper stocking of the old office records.

Lok Adalat held
Baramulla: In connection with National Legal Services Day, a two day Lok Adalat began under the district Legal Services Authority chairman, Gous-ul-Nisa Jeelani here on Monday.On the first day, various cases were taken up while several of them settled on the spot.Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bashir Ahmad Bhat, senior judges, advocates and litigents were present during the Lok Adalat which will continue till Tuesday.

Ruhullah suspends Acc Asstt, calls explanation of 13 ors
Jammu: Animal and Sheep Husbandry Minister, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi today suspended Accounts Assistant Prafulla Majoo for ‘unauthorized absence’ and sought explanation from 13 others who were found absent from duty.Ruhullah ordered this during a surprise visit to Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Talab Tillo here.Ruhullah inspected various sections and checked the attendance register. He stressed on completing codal formalities of tenders invited for various works.

Winter secretariat starts functioning
Srinagar: With the opening of move offices at Jammu, the winter secretariat Srinagar also started its functioning from today.The Minister for Education Peerzada Mohammad Syed will be available for a week in the winter secretariat for general public. The people can call on the minister and apprise him of their problems.

Bear injures man
Srinagar: A bear attacked and injured a 45-year-old man at Chandigam forest area of Kupwara.According to police, the wounded has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Dar son of Mukhtar Ahmad of Chandigam. The wounded has been hospitalized, police added.
