JK Bank staff remembers Shamas Farooq
Srinagar, Sept 30: J&K Bank staff today paid rich tributes to their former colleague Shamas Farooq who breathed his last on Tuesday after a brief spell of illness. Farooq retired from the bank services as General Manager 6-years ago.
A special condolence meet, in this regard, was held at the bank’s corporate office here today wherein top management of the bank along with staff observed 2 minute-long silence and offered condolences to the bereaved family. The gathering also prayed for the departed soul.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Kumar Mehta, Executive Director/COO said, “Shamas Farooq was gem of a person and a brilliant banker. He was helpful, hearty and humorous. A person like him is born only one in millions.”
His contributions in the making of J&K Bank a better institution would be remembered for all times to come, said Abdul Majid Mir, Executive Director/CFO.
Ajit Singh, Executive president said that Shamas sahib was not only able banker but very co-operative and cordial with staff.
