Vidyarthi’s book discussed

Srinagar,Oct 10: On the sidelines of Project Green Generation function held Sunday at Raj Bagh, some invitees discussed Forest Flora of Kashmir, a recently released book authored by Conservator of Forests, OP Sharma aka Vidyarthi.
 Vidyathi’s book, apart from other things tells the readers about the local names of plants found in Kashmir. It also briefly informs about their local usage.
 The book discusses “extensive explorations in various parts of Kashmir Valley, ranging from places like Gulmarg, Amarnath, Chandanwari, Gurez to Uri, and even Zaberwan hills.”
 When contacted Vidyarthi said: “A total of 763 species of trees, shrubs, herbs, climbers belonging to 138 families stand described in the book.”
 The book with coloured pictures of most of the species Yidyarthi worked on, was last week released by Forest Minister Mian Altaf.
