‘Exit of empty trucks from valley forbidden’

Srinagar, Oct 13:  The Transport Commissioner, Dr Syed Muhammad Fazllulah, on Wednesday said that the exit of all empty trucks beyond Lower Munda Check Post has been forbidden until fruit season is over.
 “This step has been taken to facilitate the transportation of fruit from Kashmir valley to other states,” Dr Fazllulah said in a statement.
 ”Accordingly the concerned truck owners and drivers are impressed upon to carry fresh fruit on their return, which shall be a must transition till end of February 2010. Enforcement agencies including MVD squad have been instructed to divert empty trucks, not allowing them to cross Qazigund and Lower Munda.
 All the transporters are requested to cooperate in this behalf, he added.
