NPP to seek Guv’s permission to prosecute CM

Jammu: National Panthers Party would seek Governor, N N Vohra’s permission to “prosecute” the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for his remarks in Legislative Assembly on J&K’s accession with India.
“We demand dismissal of the Chief Minister forthwith for his speech in LA otherwise we would seek permission from the Governor to file a petition to prosecute Omar,” NPP chairman, Bhim Singh told reporters here.
“We will bring a breach of privilege motion against the Chief Minister in the coming Assembly session in Jammu as his remarks on state’s accession with India amount to the treason and sedition,” he said.
Alleging that Omar violated the representation of people’s act, the NPP leader appealed to the Election Commission of India to delete Omar’s vote from the electoral list and disqualify the National Conference.
“The Chief Minister, who is an elected representative, has challenged the nationality of all the people living in J&K. It is not an insult of the people, but also the contempt of the State’s constitution,” Bhim said.
He affirmed that reorganization of the entire state so as to establish separate provincial assemblies, saying “Separate province level assemblies and secretariat is only way to solve the miseries of the people.”
