Appointing interlocutors: just another humiliation
This refers to the announcement of interlocutors for a dialogue on Kashmir. India has added salt to the wounds of the people of Kashmir by naming insignificant persons as interlocutors to told talks with the separatist leaders. It would have been better had India engaged some eminent politicians like APJ Abdul Kalam as interlocutors on Kashmir. One fails to understand what India wants to convey by engaging journalists and academics as interlocutors. They just have a theoretical understanding of the issues. We are confronted with a bigger problem which is essentially political. The same has been acknowledged by India and the Jammu and Kashmir government as well. Had Kalam on the panel of interlocutors, he could address the issues with Pakistan as well. There is an external factor to Kashmir problem which can’t be ignored.
