Srinagar, Oct 15: Police has booked three employees of Government Medical College here for their alleged unlawful activities.
However, a group of employees told Greater Kashmir that their leaders including Medical Employees Federation President, Gulzar Ahmed Bandy, its chairman Shabir Ahmed Langoo and Laboratory Association president, Mukthar Ahmed Bhat were detained by police without assigning any reason.
The employees said on Sunday, the trio was summoned by SHO Karan Nagar at police station. “After they went there, they were asked to go to police station Shergarhi where they were told that SSP was awaiting for them. But the employees were detained in the police station Shergarhi,” they said, adding they also met the Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib seeking his intervention in the matter.
“The Minister assured us that that detained will be released forthwith, but we were shocked to know that they had been shifted to central jail and booked for unlawful activities,” they added.
