Poor BSNL service irks city locality
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Oct 16: Residents of Shaheed Gunj, here today complained poor BSNL mobile services in the area.
A delegation of the residents told Greater Kashmir that for past over a month the BSNL mobile subscribers in the area were facing poor mobile connectivity. The delegation said the BSNL tower in the area was not working for past more than a month affecting the cellular services badly. “For every single call, we have to make at least three to sound clear to the person on the other side and that is quite odd,” said Altaf Ahmad, a resident.
He said same holds true about the calls we get. “Every person who calls us when we are in the area has to literally struggle to be able to sound clear to us,” he said. The delegation said the poor service by the BSNL besides irritating them, “takes a pinch on our pockets.” The delegation members said although they had raised the issue with the concerned in the BSNL, “so far nothing has been done to mitigate our problem and improve the services.”
When contacted a senior official of the BSNL said: “There is some problem with the electricity line coming to the tower.” When asked if the BSNL had then brought the problem into the notice of the Power Development Department, he said: “No. Actually the problem is to be fixed by the BSNL and we are working on it.” He said the problem is not one month old. “It is only for the last fifteen days that there is problem. In two or three days it would be fixed and the area would get smooth services,” he assured.
