HC directs DHK to appear in person
CONTEMPT OF COURT
Jammu, Oct 20: High Court, Jammu wing, has directed the Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Muhammad Amin Wani, to appear in person as show cause as to why he be not punished for committing willful disobedience of the directions issued by the Court.
The directions were issued by Justice JP Singh in a contempt petition, filed by Omkar Nath Bhan, a retired employee of Health Department Kashmir, accusing the director for willfully disobeying the directions passed by the court on January 1.
The court observed that the warrants issued by it earlier against the Director were recalled on the assurances of government counsel that the orders would be complied within two weeks. It was further ordered, earlier, that in case of non-compliance of the order the director shall remain present in the court.
However, today neither the compliance report has been filed nor the director is present in person, the court observed while issuing the directions.
The petitioner claimed that the Director willfully disobeyed the orders, wherein he was directed to release assumptive pension and report compliance. It was further submitted that the respondent was directed by the court to personally look into the matter and process the case of the petitioner for grant of pension and other benefits.
