NEGLECTED CHANAPORA, NEIGHBOURHOOD

WE THE Srinagarites

Our miseries are more than one. We have roads but they aren’t blacktopped. The traffic load is high but there are no footpaths. And this list of miseries is unending like our wait to get respite.
We the residents of Chanapora and adjoining areas opine that the state government should order immediate blacktopping of the main road from Rambagh to Bypass Bridge before the onset of winter so that the commuters are relieved of the hardships and inconvenience they have been facing on the dusty bumpy track. Last year, the main road was blacktopped but a single lane only. That too was a thin layer.
On the other hand there are no footpaths in the stretch between old SICOP building and Lal Nagar. This stretch has been most accident prone.  Another trouble is that some trucks manage entry into the area during daytime which is just illegal.
The old and decaying poplar trees along the road are another issue. These dead trees are posing potential threat to both life and property of the people and it seems that the authorities in deep slumber are waiting to be awakened by some serious accident due to collapse of these trees in the near future.
We hope that the state government will surely order blacktopping of the main road from Rambagh to Channapora in double lane and also take cognizance of other problems we face.
