Alamdar Colony residents condemn ‘improper’ road repairs

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Oct 23: The residents of Alamdar Colony, Dagga Kadal Soura have expressed serious resentment over “improper road repairs” in the area.
The residents said that following repeated requests, the Roads and Building (R&B) department recently made some repairs of the damaged road between Awantabhawan to Masjid Chaar Yaar.
“But instead of any proper repairs they put mud dust on Bajri…The same got washed away in the very first spell of recent rains,” the residents said.
They alleged that substandard material was used in the work.
“Instead of stone dust mud was used,” said a delegation of residents led by Farhat Ahmed.
“At a time when macadamization was done elsewhere why was our area so ill treated,” the residents argued.
They appealed the Chief Engineer R&B to look into the matter.
