Div com inaugurates anti-tobacco seminar

Srinagar, Oct 23: Divisional Commissioner, Dr Asgar Samoon on Saturday inaugurated a seminar on anti- tobacco, organized by Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI) in collaboration with the divisional administration at IMPA.
 An official handout said the Director General, IMPA, AH Allaqaband was also present on
 the occasion, besides a number of doctors and eminent citizens of Srinagar.
 The speakers on this occasion urged for launching a massive campaign against smoking and said it was “imperative to protect our young generation from this menace”.
 On this occasion, message by Governor, NN Vohara was also read out.
 The Governor in his message has underscored the need for discouraging the consumption of cigarettes and other tobacco products.
 He has also urged for organizing workshops, seminars, rallies and similar other initiatives to achieve the goal.
 Chairman of JKVHA, Dr GQ Allaqaband and Seema Gupta of VHAI, New Delhi also spoke on the occasion.
