Srinagar, Oct 27:  Minster for Medical, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, RS Chib on Wednesday inaugurated Rs 1.60 crore Oxygen Concentrator Plant at GB Pant Hospital.
 An official handout said the project has been set up by Mechanical Engineering Department, Kashmir.
 Addressing the inaugural function, the Minister said that government was determined to provide all essential facilities to the associated hospitals including Oxygen plant in a phased manner.
 “Stressing upon employees of associated hospitals to be punctual, disciplined and dedicated towards their duties, Mr Chib said that government will not tolerate any kind of irresponsible approach as health department is concerned with protection of human lives,” the Mnister said.
  Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar, Prof Shahida Mir on this occasion said the Oxygen plant would “supply round the clock piped supply to all the wards, ICU and PICU which otherwise demanded refilling and transportation of bulky cylinders and is a cumbersome process.”
 Speaking about other achievements registered by GMC, Prof Shahida said that three PG departments of the college which include Paediatrics, Dermatology and Ophthalmology were recognized by Medical Council of India within a minimum period of 8 months.
 Director Information Khawaja Farooq Ahmed Renzu, Administrator Associated Hospitals   Bashir Ahmad, Director Chitranjan Hospital, Dr Rakesh Khajuria, Executive Engineer, MED Shafat Ahmad and Medical Superintendents of all the associated hospitals were present on the occasion.
