Offending sentiments

This refers to the news "Rulers offending religious sentiments: Hurriyat (M) (GK Oct 23).  It is a sad state of affairs that the Jammu and Kashmir government is clamping curfew on every Friday now. Friday is the most auspicious day of the week. This day people all over the world—and traditionally in Kashmir—people from villages and cities assemble in large gatherings at major religious places. But now people are caged in their homes. It really hurts the religious sentiments of people. The hartal on Friday is a also the reason for this because a hartal gives government an excuse to clamp curfew on Friday. Therefore both the state and Geelani sahib should respect the day and not keep any hartal or curfew on Fridays.
