Red-light car on highway rampage
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Oct 2: Does the red-light vehicle empower a driver to resort to rash driving and put the life of motorists and pedestrians at risk? This holds true if it is Kashmir!
The motorists plying on the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Batote were surprised Saturday evening when a speeding Mitsubishi Pajero (JK08B/ 1915), flashing a red light, hit many vehicles and resorted to rash driving.
“We wonder if there was a VIP inside or some unscrupulous persons were flashing the red light. The dangerous driving by the motorist could have led to accidents and loss of precious lives. The Government should take stringent action against the drivers of the red light vehicles if they resort to rash driving, even if it belongs to a VIP. Everybody is equal before law and nobody should be allowed to violate it,” said a businessman who had a narrow escape while paving way to the over-speeding vehicle.
