Drug de-addiction camp organized

Srinagar, Oct 29: Police on Friday organized a drug de-addiction, awareness and treatment camp at Nun Kun Park on the Dal lake banks.
A police handout said: “Drug de-addiction, awareness and treatment camp was organized by drug De-addiction center, Police Control Room Srinagar for patients with drug abuse.”
“42 patients with addiction problems talked to the team of professionals and were provided with detailed psyco-education, motivation enhancement therapy and on spot medical intervention,” it added.
Pertinently, some three years ago, the police started drug de-addiction facility in the City on the instructions of Inspector General of Police, Shiv Morari Sahai who was keen in the rehabilitation of the affected persons.
Sahai, during his earlier tenure as the IGP Kashmir, had got a full fledged drug de-addiction centre started near Police Control Room Batamaloo.
The centre had treated scores of drug abuse cases and the endeavour was widely hailed.
