Govt for timely implementation of GST
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Oct 29: For timely implementation of the GST, the government has stressed to finalize all related issues of GST including the relevant legislation.
At the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers in Goa today, J&K pleaded for a definite timeline to be set for adherence to follow the roadmap.
J&K also stressed for bringing about requisite constitutional amendments in the forthcoming budget session “as the same could not be brought about during the monsoon session of the Parliament.”
Stating that alternate model of the GST suggested by Madhya Pradesh was not in line with the discussions of the Empowered Committee, J&K suggested adoption of proposed Gujrat Model as an interim model preparatory to the final model of GST subject to general consensus.
Meanwhile, the J&K at the meeting called for protection of its fiscal autonomy in relation to the implementation of GST.
