2-day Research Council Meet concludes

Srinagar, Oct 30:  Vice chancellor, SKUAST-K Dr. Tej Partap, urged the scientists and the stakeholders to reorient agricultural research through integrated approach.  Dr. Partap said priority of the research in the area should be farmer centric.  He was speaking at the 2-day 46th Research Council Meeting (Rabi 2010-11) that began on October 28 at Conference Hall, Shalimar Campus.  Earlier, Dr A R Trag, Director Research welcomed the participants in the meeting. He said that scientists should formulate research programmes that quantify the sensitivity of crops soils and water to the emerging climatic change scenario.  “The aim of the meeting is to make recommendations in respect of research programmes in the field of agriculture, veterinary science and animal husbandry and other allied sciences with a view to promoting effective coordination and orient research to meet farmers’ needs.”
