Change strategy
It has been four months of unrest in Kashmir. The Hurriyat Conference led by veteran leader Syed Ali Geelani issued many protest calendars which people followed in letter and spirit. There is hardly a day when people defied it. Even the government departments changed their plans according to Geelani’s calendar. Last time, he made a fervent appeal to people to not resort to violence. But sometimes that was not heeded to. Today, however, people are again following this calendar. But that doesn’t mean that they need be taken for granted. People have to survive and sustain. We must allow examinations to be conducted in a smooth manner. That won’t make him a small leader but a responsible one. Continued shutdowns and chalo calls are not the solution. Let peace heave a sigh or relief.
