Education must
I differ with the Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani over his recent statement on education. How can he ask parents not to send their wards to schools? Education must be kept out of the domain of politics. Children have already suffered a lot. They haven’t been to schools for the past four months. We can’t dream of a vibrant society if children are not imparted education. Today the world has changed a lot. And even conflict zones have undergone tremendous change. No country can prosper without education and no nation can achieve freedom without it. And what would that freedom mean. There would be complete anarchy around. There would be chaos. It is essential that Geelani understands the essence of education. If Geelani sahib is able to argue on any issue today, it is because of education. So that should give him an idea of how important it is to have the youth who can uphold the Kashmir cause in future at different levels. Schools must be kept out of the purview of strikes and curfews. All this is simply going to ruin the society in the long run. Sooner we understand it, better it is.
