I wonder
This refers to the recent hype that the Jammu and Kashmir government created over education. All of a sudden education became a priority of the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and his cabinet colleagues. Unfortunately the entire issue died down the next day when most of the schools remained closed. I was shocked to see the Education Minister Peerzada Muhammad Sayeed keeping his child away from the schools while asking other children to be present in the educational institutions. Government is making mockery of itself by diverting the attention of the people from the basic issue of freedom. Education hardly matters in a situation when peoples’ survival is at stake. Newspapers rightly highlighted the harassment faced by teachers at the hands of police and CRPF. Many teachers were asked stupid questions by cops like why they don’t go to schools during curfews. In normal days, Govt cares fig for schools and children. Our schools don’t have the bathrooms. Then how come did education become a matter of concern for Omar Abdullah? I wonder!
