Azad, Muzaffar bereaved
Jammu, Oct 6: Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad’s mother, Razia Begum, passed away after a brief illness. She was the mother-in-law of prominent businessman Muzaffar Dev.
She breathed her last at the All India Institute of Medical Science in Delhi late last night.
She was laid to rest at Gujjar nagar graveyard in Jammu where state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and former Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Muhammed Sayeed joined Azad in offering prayers for the departed soul.
The state Governor, NN Vohra, has, in a condolence message, expressed sympathy with Azad, and other members of the bereaved family.
Expressing deep sorrow over the demise, the members of Jammu Kashmir State Legislative Assembly today observed two minutes’ silence in the house as mark of respect to the deceased.
State president of the Congress Prof Saifuddin Soz also offered condolences to Azad and other members of the family.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti also condoled the demise of Razia Begum.
She expressed heartfelt condolences to Azad and other members of the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Speaker Legislative Assembly Muhammad Akbar Lone, Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rathar, Rural Development Minister, Ali Mohammad Sagar, School Education Minister, Peerzada Mohammad Sayed, Agriculture Minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Revenue Minister, Raman Bhalla, Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma , Medical Education Minister, R S Chib and several other individuals and political and social organisations offered condolences to Azad and his family.
