First think
This refers to the news item titled “Elections in JK a plebiscite: Krishna.” I think India’s External Affairs Minister is confused and is misleading the world community and his own country by issuing such uncalled for statements. He has related elections in J&K to plebiscite. Plebiscite means the direct vote by electorate of a country, region, or a state on a question of national importance such as union with another country. Election means selection of a person or persons to an office of propositions by a vote. The propositions in India mainly include Bijli Pani and Sadak. No doubt that people of J&K voted in 2008, but that was a vote for propositions like BSP as acknowledged even by the state political leadership. It wasn’t a vote in support of India or New Delhi. The Minister must think before issuing such statements.
