Yes, Trauma Care in Valley is primitive
I read excellent news in Greater Kashmir titled “Trauma Care in Valley not good enough” about the poor trauma care in Kashmir. It is a fact as the world has changed and technology has made the things better for mankind. With advanced technology there is revolution in medical field. Our hospitals are still in the era of 1950s and the practice of medicine has hardly changed. Private practice, unnecessary investigations for commission, generic medicine have made our poor and common man's life miserable. Trauma and cardiac care is primitive. There is no concept of advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) basic cardiac life support (BCLS/BLS) with which thousands of lives are saved worldwide .There is no concept of advanced trauma life support(ATLS) in our hospitals which is need of the hour due to increase in motor vehicular traffic, natural disasters and present turmoil. Our doctors have the talent and are doing a lot under present circumstances with limited resources. We need to set up training centres for trauma care and basic and advanced cardiac life support in our state to save the precious lives in organized manner and run the things as per Quality and may be one day introduce the concept of accreditation of our private and government hospitals with international accreditation organizations like JCIA—a dream for the time being. We will be ready to render our services to our suffering and innocent community if government takes steps to invite back professionals with expertise and serving in other resourceful countries.
