Pattan tragedy
It pained me to see the photograph of a mother who lost her child in police action in Pattan. Forces have really gone out of control. They kill anyone at will. Is this the democracy that India is talking about? People have lost faith in police, which ideally is an institution meant to protect the citizens. The situation, which seemed to be returning to normal gradually, has again turned worse. Pattan tragedy is a chilling reminder of the worst form of atrocities that Kashmiris face day in and day out. Police, CRPF and Army are the actual rulers of Kashmir.
