Mirwaiz slams Govt for blaming Hurriyat

Srinagar:  Strongly condemning the killing of civilians by government forces, the Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Tuesday slammed the state government for blaming the pro-freedom leadership for instigating violence.

“ In the fresh reign of terror forces have killed 20 people while as hundreds have been injured. 90 innocent civilians have now been killed in just three months as part of the state’s policy to subdue the political aspirations of Kashmiris through bullets. Worse, to hide their own failures, the so called rulers after blaming the Hurriyat Conference are now leveling false allegations against senior pro-freedom leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. All this is being done to divert the attention of the people in India and the world from the real issue,” Mirwaiz said in a statement issued here.

Mirwaiz also expressed his concern over what he termed unprovoked and brute force on peaceful protesters across the Kashmir Valley and Poonch, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Doda districts in Jammu.(PBI)
