62000 job cards issued under MGNREGA

Srinagar, Sept 1: An amount of Rs 5.09 crore have been expended by the Rural Development Department on the execution of 433 rural works under MGNREGA up to August 2010, besides 62000 job cards were also issued during the same period. 1336, development works were also targeted to complete them during the current fiscal.
This, according to an official statement, was stated in a meeting of officers and engineers of Rural Development Department to review the progress achieved under the various sectors in the district under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Muhammad Shafi Rather. The Chief Planning Officer, Kupwara, ACD and BDOs were also present in the review meeting.
It was given out that under BADP Rs 9.92 crore are being spent while under Indira Awas Yojna Rs 5.77 crore are being proposed in which Rs 15 lakh have been expended for the execution and upgradation of all low cost houses in the district.
