Accept Kashmir as dispute: Mirwaiz to New Delhi

Srinagar, Sept 1: The Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on Wednesday reiterated that New Delhi should accept Kashmir as a dispute and initiate positive, serious and result oriented talks to resolve it.
“India cannot suppress the ongoing peaceful struggle by giving a freehand to its forces to kill, commit human rights violations and use other methods of oppression,” Mirwaiz said while addressing a public meeting organized by the Bakia Aalia Idaria Auqaf Gousia on the Yoom-i-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA) at Saria Bala here.
He cautioned India to desist from using indiscriminate force against Kashmiris and asked it to acknowledge Kashmir as a dispute and initiate positive, serious and result oriented talks to resolve it.
Mirwaiz expressed satisfaction over the visit of various prominent personalities and civil society members of India to Valley to assess the situation. “These civil society members and other personalities of various organizations are not only assessing the prevailing situation but are also supporting our peaceful struggle,” he added.
Mirwaiz, urged political parties of India to demonstrate broadmindedness and visit Kashmir to have a direct feel of prevailing situation and peoples’ sentiment.
Mirwaiz later inaugurated modern machines and equipments purchased for Gousia Diagnostic Centre.
After offering Asar prayers, Mirwaiz led a huge pro-freedom procession.
Mirwaiz was accompanied Hurriyat leaders and activists including advocate Shahid-ul-Islam .
