Cholera epidemic

The ongoing outbreak of cholera in various rural and urban localities speaks volumes about our non-existent health service sector. The emergence of cholera affecting thousands of people exposes the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir for two reasons: failing to take immediate measures and hiding the truth. Even World Health Organization was not informed about the epidemic. Public was intentionally kept in dark till the toll
crossed thousands. Had the reaction from Health Services been prompt, thousands could not have been affected.
