NC takes on Ansari
‘Abid Used Qasim Khaar In Electioneering’
GK NEWSNETWORK
Srinagar, Sept 1: Hitting out at PDP leader Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, ruling National Conference has described him a political chameleon “adept at changing colours.”
Rejecting the statement of Ansari regarding revival of Ikhwan (pro-government gunmen), a NC spokesman termed it his frustration and figment of imagination.
Spokesman said Ansari had himself sought help of Ikhwanis in last assembly elections to ensure his victory. “The people of the state are witness to the fact that NC has always promoted unity between Shias and Sunnis under the pioneering leadership of late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah,” the spokesman said adding the party has been playing historic role in promoting harmony and co-existence among different religions, castes and sections.
The spokesman said it was an open fact known to people of Sonawari constituency that Ansari’s younger brother Abid Ansari had engaged Qasim Khaar and the same person had played a prominent role during the electioneering campaign in the assembly segment.
The spokesman said Mehbooba Mufti had introduced daughter of Mumkanna as PDP candidate as councillor which everybody is fully familiar with.
The spokesman said that Iftikhar Hussain Ansari is actually trying to conceal his record breaking irregularities of the past and ill-gotten massive wealth, adding the leader has lost his credibility.
The spokesman threatened that the government will shortly reveal the irregularities committed by Ansari. He said that Ansari has broken all records of defection while reminding that his past statements are still reverberating in political circles. He said that Ansari is on record having said during Parliament election of 2004 at Khurhima Batamaloo and while addressing other election rallies that a dozen of PDP candidates have won due to election rigging in 2002 as well as with the help of four army commanders.
He said that Ansari even accused Mufti Muhammad Sayeed of making a sell out of Kashmir and its flora to gain power.
The spokesman while expressing surprise over the statement of Mehbooba Mufti said that the onus of turning the state into a garrison and bringing the draconian AFSPA to the state was on former Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed. He said the same leader was responsible for dislodging elected government in 1990 and bringing Jagmohan as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The hardliner Jagmohan, he said was responsible for bloodshed and creating mayhem in the State.
The spokesman said NC has always nurtured public interest and from Sher-i-Kashmir to Omar Abdullah have always made power subservient to public aspirations. He said despite PDP’s constant efforts to criticise NC, the party’s bright image cannot be eclipsed by the baseless and trivial criticism.
