One umbrella

This refers to the article titled “Wake up now by” by Gowher Geelani. Every peace-loving nation likes to see the disputes resolved through dialogue and Kashmir is no exception. But how can you expect Hurriyat leaders to talk when innocent children and teenagers are being killed by government forces every day. Hundreds of people are injured and many of them permanently disabled. Where on earth is an eight year old boy beaten to death? Several pro-freedom leaders are languishing in jails. Even if Hurriyat leaders accept the autonomy, would that be acceptable to the people? Regarding ‘Be proactive’’ it is good if all Hurriyat leaders come under one umbrella and give joint programmes like they did in 2008.
